Comprehensive Support for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Community

The mission of the Department of Campus Services is to deliver exceptional, customer-focused support to students, faculty, and staff while maintaining a safe, functional, energy-efficient, and visually appealing environment that supports the Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s mission.

Campus Services supports the entire University community across all campuses by providing a wide range of essential services. These include facilities management, landscaping, purchasing, space and energy management, event and conference services, real estate oversight, mail and duplication services, environmental health and safety, operations management, and sustainability initiatives.

We are also responsible for campus planning, including the design, engineering, and construction of capital projects.

Auxiliary Services

The Auxiliary Operations Department proudly serves the Biddeford and Portland campuses of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½, providing reliable, customer-focused services that enhance the daily experience of students, faculty, professional staff, and guests. Through operational excellence and a commitment to service, Auxiliary Operations plays a vital role in supporting UNE’s mission and maintaining a vibrant, efficient campus environment.

Our areas of responsibility include:

  • Building Management
    • Oversight of the Harold Alfond Forum and Danielle Ripich Commons, ensuring safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities that serve as hubs for student life, athletics, and community engagement.
  • Copy and Print Services
    • Full-service copy center operations, as well as management of departmental copier repairs, replacements, and supply coordination.
  • Mail and Shipping Services
    • Campus mail delivery, student mailboxes, shipping and receiving, and distribution of incoming and outgoing packages.
      • Amazon Lockers: Located on the Biddeford Campus, we proudly offer two convenient locker banks for package pickup — one inside the Danielle Ripich Commons on the first floor, and another outside the main entrance of the Harold Alfond Forum.
  • Vending Services
    • Oversight of beverage and snack vending across both campuses, ensuring consistent, high-quality options for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½community.
  • Laundry Services
    • Coordination of all campus laundry operations, including service management and vendor relations.

Conference Services

The Department of Conference Services provides professional event management and a variety of versatile spaces for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½community, the public, and in-house guests. Whether you’re planning a meeting, conference, retreat, or special event, we offer support with venues, dining, accommodations, and more — all designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for you and your guests.

Environmental Health and Safety

The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) provides a broad range of services to the University to promote the protection of our stakeholders as well as compliance with regulatory authorities, as listed below:

  • Chemical inventory/hazardous waste management
  • Radiation safety
  • Indoor air quality

Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability leads campus-wide efforts to advance environmental responsibility across all Âé¶¹´«Ã½campuses. Through collaboration with students, faculty, and staff, we propose, implement, and assess sustainable practices that support the University’s commitment to a greener future.

We offer hands-on opportunities for students to engage in real-world sustainability initiatives, while also supporting academic programs through guest lectures, research partnerships, and events that promote environmental awareness and action.

Campus Planning

The Office of Campus Planning is dedicated to creating a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible campus environment. We provide expert planning support to maintain and renew existing buildings and systems, design and construct new facilities, and guide the long-term development of campus spaces.

Our work ensures that the physical growth of Âé¶¹´«Ã½aligns with and enhances the University’s academic, recreational, and community goals.
