John Goff brings more than 28 years of experience in public education to the Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Department of Education. His career has included extensive work in elementary education, teacher leadership, curriculum and assessment, and teacher preparation. He has also maintained a longstanding connection with UNE, working with pre-service teachers, and contributing to the School of Education through teaching, advisory, and professional review roles.

Dr. Goff’s teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that strong relationships, meaningful engagement, and high expectations create the conditions for learning. He believes effective educators must be able to connect educational theory to the realities of the classroom while remaining responsive to the individual needs of their students. In working with future educators, he emphasizes reflection, practical application, and the development of both confidence and adaptability. His approach is guided by a simple principle: teaching is ultimately about people and relationships. He is excited to bring that perspective to Â鶹´«Ã½and to work with the next generation of educators.
